This website aims to capture daily snapshots of life in Portsmouth. Phil Cohen (the site’s featured photographer) lives in Atlantic Heights, a historic WWI Shipbuilders’ neighborhood in Portsmouth, NH. Please enjoy.
ABOUT PHIL
Born and raised in Central Massachusetts, I’m a New Englander at heart. I now work and play in the wonderful seaport town of Portsmouth, NH. I’m a believer in developing and maintaining a sense of community, and am fascinated by architecture and construction, which benefits me in my role as a commercial real estate lender at Ocean Bank.
More of Phil’s work can be found on FLICKR.
Prints are available for purchase at Phil’s Gallery.

I also rent various lenses from the folks at www.borrowlenses.com and have been very satisfied with the process.

Sorry about the blank reply. This site is awesome; totally brings me back to Portsmouth. Love it!
Thanks Jon – hope it tides you over until we can get you back out here for a visit
Very cool work.
Many thanks, hope you continue to check back!
Great pics! I miss my hometown so much! Maybe I can use your site to convince my hubby we should move there…
Thanks! Come back, I think it misses you too! Let me know if there’s something specific you’d like to see a shot of – I always like assignments. Good luck with the convincing process
Wow, these photos take me back to the six years I lived on the Seacoast from late ’99 through the fall of ’05. I saw films and “Momix” at The Music Hall; drank local beer at The Portsmouth Brewery and Redhook; enjoyed local music at The Muddy River Smokehouse and The Press Room; and great food at Lindbergh’s Crossing, The GasLight and The Stockpot (r.i.p.).
Thanks for the daily flashbacks! Your talent is amazing.
Glad to hear you found the site, and that it’s brought you back to great times! Thanks for sharing some of the adventures…names around town might change, but the vibe still hasn’t….come back and visit!
Thanks for your kind words!
Very nice work Philip. Being a native of the seacoast area, finding your sight was a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to viewing more of your photography.
